symtoms, causes and conseqences of leadership failure

Leaders can fail. History has shown us time and time again that leadership failure always has terrible and enduring consequences for leaders and their organizations. Usually, the wider the scope of a leaders’ influence, the more severe are the consequences of his/her failure. Numerous examples abound from the corporate, political and religious arenas that illustrate this.

The truth however is that leadership failure does not happen overnight. There are always causes and symptoms which point to impending calamity. The problem however is that many people are ignorant of these signs and thus unable to interpret them accurately. According to renowned leadership scholar Manfred Kets de Vries, some of these signs include conflict avoidance, micro management, the tyrannization of subordinates to mention just a few.

Our SLDP will show you how these and other factors cause and indicate leadership failure. It will show using various examples the consequences of leadership failure and finally outline strategies to help participants avoid failing as leaders.
